Your Grief is Real
Losing a beloved pet can be one of the most painful experiences a person goes through.
Pets become family, offering unconditional love, comfort, and companionship, so their loss can leave a very real emptiness. Grief over the loss of a pet is sometimes even more difficult to overcome than the loss of a human family member or companion.
It’s important to allow yourself to feel and process that grief, rather than minimizing it or pushing it aside. And if you need a little help, there are many resources to turn to.
For many people, connecting with others who understand can make the healing process a little easier. Pet loss grief support groups provide a safe, compassionate space to share your feelings, honor your pet’s memory, and learn healthy ways to cope.
Whether through in-person meetings or online communities, reaching out for support can remind you that you’re not alone and that your grief—and the love behind it—truly matters.
For online support, you are welcome to reach out to the Association for Pet Loss and Bereavement Inc.
They offer group sessions according to the following schedule:
Sunday 12-2 pm
Monday 6-8 pm
